Would you like to sing in a choir renowned for its magnificent philharmonic sound?

The Helsinki Philharmonic Choir is recruiting new singers for all voice sections.​

The Helsinki Philharmonic Choir (HFK), founded in 2007, has established itself as one of Finland’s leading large choirs. The choir is known for its bold repertoire choices and philharmonic expressiveness. Our singers are experienced choral singers keen to develop their skills. The choir is led by the experienced and distinguished choir director, MuM Tommi Niskala.

 

We hope that you have

* Previous experience of performing choral music and good music literacy.

* You have taken singing lessons and are keen to develop as a singer.

* A passion for classical choral works.

* The ability to commit to the choir’s activities over the long term.

 

We ask that you prepare a piece, which we will send to you approximately one week before your agreed audition. The piece should be performed unaccompanied in Finnish or Swedish, but if your mother tongue is another language, you may also perform it without lyrics, using suitable syllables or vowels. You may choose a key that suits you and, if you wish, we can provide a starting note. In addition to the artistic director, members of the music committee will be listening to the auditions.
